Once MEDICUS has arranged with the specialist the date and time for the
consultation, a MEDICUS representative will contact either the patient or the
contact person to inform them of the appointment.

Once we contact you and you have confirmed your interest in arranging
a Second Opinion Consultation, we will send you a list, either by fax or
email, of all the materials that will be useful for you to provide us.
In general, we encourage you to send as much medical background and
information you can so that the specialist will have enough information
on which to form a recommendation.

Yes. All the materials that are sent to MEDICUS will be returned to the
patient after the consultation. In the event that the patient decides to
travel to the USA to receive medical care from the specialist, MEDICUS will
ensure the safe keeping of the medical materials until they can be delivered
to the patient here in the USA

Yes. MEDICUS will record the telephone conversation between the patient and
the specialist and will then transcribe it. The transcript will then be sent
to the patient for their records.

Yes. The specialist is available to speak to the patient's doctor at a convenient time.

MEDICUS will assure that the telephone conference is coordinated by a person who speaks the patient's language.

We understand that medical emergencies may occur and you may need to
contact MEDICUS outside regular business hours. For that purpose, we have a
24-hour answering service in English and Spanish so that you may contact us at
any time.

MEDICUS will inform the patient who will be the specialist providing the
opinion.

For Providers who are not identified as "Gold",
we display their credentials in a more concise manner, hence the
option to view a profile is not available via this website. More information
about these providers may be made available upon special request.

The quality of the medical care you receive is not compromised if you
choose a specialist that is not a Gold Provider. A Gold Provider is simply a
specialist who in the past has demonstrated a solid commitment to serving
international patients and who has gained recognition as such by peers
and patients.

The patient is not obligated to travel to the USA to receive care just because the specialist recommends it.
In the event that the patient decides to travel to the USA to receive care,
our various services offer an added level of comfort, cost-effectiveness and

If the patient's medical condition is not listed, it does not mean the patient cannot arrange a
Second Opinion Consultation.
We are continuously expanding our group of Second
Opinion Specialists in order to provide
access to all the specialties that our patients may need. If you find that
your specialty is not listed, please contact us so that we may be able to
explore other options with you.
