How Does It Work?
The process for arranging a consultation begins with you. We ask that you:
Choose a specialist
The first step in arranging a second opinion is determining the most
appropriate specialist to speak to regarding the patient's pre-diagnosed
condition.
- Using this website, you may search our list of Second
Opinion Specialists - you
will be able to review the qualifications and specializations of each
available specialist until you find one that best suits the patient's
medical needs.
- If you are unable to determine the best specialist for the patient,
MEDICUS may assist you with that decision.
Send the patient's medical records to MEDICUS International
These medical records will be the most important source of information for
the specialist. The more materials provided, the better informed the specialist
will be when formulating the medical recommendation.
That is all that we ask of you. From this point, we are responsible
for making the rest of the arrangements.
Once we receive the patient's medical records, they will be forwarded to the
specialist for review. After the specialist has formed a preliminary opinion, we
will coordinate the date and time for the consultation with the patient.
|
On the day of the consultation,
MEDICUS and the specialist will call the patient. The specialist will be
ready to give the second opinion and answer questions. |
After the consultation, we will return the patient's medical
records along with a written transcript of the second opinion provided.
